Shabbhakti:

Where You can be a Jew on the mat.

Welcome my Jewish Yogis!

Experience Judaism in a new way!

I’m Deb and I teach Shabbhakti yoga — a yoga practice marinated in Jewish thought, philosophy and text.

Here at Shabbhakti we embody Judaism through the physical practice of yoga and make it fun while doing so.

You know how capture the flag was never quite the same in gym class as it was in summer camp? Or the school dance was never quite as fun as with your youth group?

Well… Shabbhakti is that youth group, is that summer camp. It is smartly taught fun yoga in a community of like- hearted people. It is the Ruach of shared identity and heart-processes.

And guess what, anyone can be part of the community regardless of denomination, orientation, or even religion! We are inclusive and welcoming. All ya gotta do is so up with a willingness to be your best you and to share that with those around you.

Think of me as your fave camp counselor. A facilitator to make your experience memorable and amazing; to help you make long connections to friends, yourself and God.

I’ve been inspired watching Deb sit with the weekly Torah and turn it over and over until she unearths a message that speaks deeply to her in the moment and that she is able to embody and convey in her yoga class.
